A transformational change is underway at Oak Grove Lutheran School, thanks to the generosity of people like you who believe in faith-based education and who understand that facilities enable effective teaching and learning.
The progress can be seen at both campuses, and the following photos show the early stages of construction and renovation.
During the next year, South Campus students will play outside on transitional equipment. The playgrounds from last year have been moved to create room for a second gymnasium and necessary adjustments around the parking lot. A year from now, contractors will be finishing outdoor areas that include new playground equipment, synthetic turf and a performance space … providing experiences for all our students’ and their varied interests.
The historic North Campus looks substantially different than it did when the school year ended. The Eid Center footprint has been cleared for a new facility that will include classrooms and labs dedicated to science and math disciplines. The larger building, when it opens in fall 2025, also will provide foodservice, student gathering spaces and the main entry for visitors.
The story of Oak Grove starts on the North Campus about 118 years ago in the exact location where construction is moving forward for the next building that will serve current and future Grovers!
And just to the west, Benson Hall looks the same from the outside, but it will look different from the inside. The main high school building will be renovated with new rooms, new flooring, new windows and new ceilings.
The original flood wall east of Jackson Hall was taken down in early June, opening the back of campus.
